James Popsys photography is hard to ignore. They’re big, bold and deliberately obvious; surrealism intended for the purpose of humour.
His street photography shots of London are transformed with subversive, witty twists. Iconic buildings and city scenescapes have everyday household objects carefully composited into the photo. The lack of noise in the photos mean the subject matter is truly isolated, to be concentrated upon and the focal centre point of photographic storytelling.
The series is a visual delight for any Londoner (or person who’s even visited London); the city’s hard edges transformed into a soft, childlike playground. Photo composition at it’s best (unless there really are giant rubber ducks swimming in the River Thames!).
