You see them every day plastered across billboards: sporting watches, rings, holding cups of coffee and pieces of chocolate, cleaning work surfaces and applying lipsticks: hands. Specifically, those of hand models, a real, and often lucrative profession. And yet, do you ever consider the faces behind these hands.
Hand Jobs: Life as a Hand Model is a new book featuring some of the most famous hands in the world paired next to their lesser-known faces by photographer Oli Kellett and creative director Alex Holder.
All hands are photographed holding a banana and feature little snapshots into their foray into the industry as well as the work that is required to maintain such hands (Kate Moss’s hand double for example moisturises up to 30 times a day, whilst another’s are insured for a seven figure sum!).
