Freddy Fabris’s work has been on the photography community’s radar for quite some time, but it was his ‘Renaissance Series‘ which really catapulted him to the public spotlight.
His latest series, entitled in similar fashion, ‘The 1900’s series‘ is a take on the style of said era, yet with modern touches of brightness, shot in a studio. The intention was however not to replicate, but to interpret the style of the period. Images such as the below were used for reference, and inspiration.
The combination of vintage, historically accurate props with modern make-up and hairstyles are subtlety blended giving the images a modern, refreshing aesthetic.
