Indonesian Designer Jati Putra’s work is a classic example of work where at a glance everything appears normal, albeit of course beautiful. Take a closer look however and you’ll become aware of some incredible image mastery at play.
Via a combination of digital trickery techniques, Putra’s work not only displaces you in terms of positioning (is it upside down? Am I upside down?) but in the geographical sense. Blending space and earth the images distort the sense of reality.
It’s a fantastically clever series in which fiction and fantasy align and whereby no matter how many times you come back to them they spawn the same ‘aha!’ moment when you see how the elements have been amalgamated cohesively together.
