An absolutely beautiful image of two foxes in the snow has won this year’s ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ Award. Winning amateur photographer Don Gutoski captured the two foxes in Canada’s Wapusk National Park showcasing the red fox hauling his Arctic fox prey. Despite the Arctic fox not usually being prey for the red fox, when territories overlap (prominently due to climate change) conflict can arise between the two species. The composition and alignment of the foxes, in bodily symmetry is staggering but what is really outstanding is how Gutoski captured the emotions and facial expression of the foxes; sadness and slight desperation. It’s incredibly moving.
