Taking images to a scale beyond just a large print is something that Wallsauce do every day. From small wall murals for the home to large commercial murals, the bigger and better the image file, the better the results!

So when the opportunity arose to use the Fotolia API to access millions of new images, Wallsauce.com jumped at the chance.

Aside from choosing the right kind of material to suit the style and the environment of the wall mural location, the first all-important stage is the choice and size of the image.

Not all images are suitable, in fact a large percentage of photos won’t deliver the desired results because quite simply there are not enough pixels to scale the image to size required to print a large mural. However, as digital camera technology and software improves more and more photos can make the grade when taken at the right size.

Using Fotolia’s API, Wallsauce.com’s job was made that bit easier! How, because not only do Fotolia have a great selection of filtering options, but they have one of the most important ones for our business. The ability to search and use only the images that have an XXL file means that we can cut straight to the selection of photos that work well for wall murals. These images have more pixels than any other size and that’s just what wall murals need!
