The Fotolia Instant App revolutionised uploading and selling smartphone images. The simplicity and convenience of its software functionality ensures that anyone who owns an iOS or Android smartphone has the capability to contribute to Fotolia’s Instant Collection.

We’ve put together a short and simple guide for those of you who don’t know how simple contributing your smartphone imagery can be.

Select the image you want to upload from your camera roll:

Select the image and confirm your choice:

Specify if there is a person in the image:

If you have uploaded a photo of a person you previously filled in a model release for then you can select it again to avoid filling a new one. However if you have not uploaded a model release of the person then you will need to click on ‘Create a new release’ and submit it.

To select the language you’re using for keywording: Open the menu > open My Profile > click on Keywording Language:

Enter your keywords to ensure that your image is indexed correctly in Fotolia’s stock image portfolio. You can find out more about the importance of keywording in this post.

Make sure your keywords are displayed in order of relevance. This will ensure that your image will appear in the most relevant search results (on Android simply write the most relevant keywords first).

Pick the most the relevant category for your image to be displayed under.

Check that all the information you’ve submitted with your image is correct and, if it is, click ‘Upload now’. It’s that simple!
