Every week we’ll be talking to our contributors about one image from their Fotolia portfolio to tell the story behind it – whether that be the inspiration, the creative concept or the technique (or all three!).
Those familiar with our social media sites may be familiar with this week’s chosen image, the conceptual and creative genius from Ohio based Fotolia photographer Jaime Staley, thanks to its irresistible and playful nature which makes it perfect for Facebook et al! She kindly shared how she came to take such a now iconic shot, highlighting the fun elements that shooting for stock can bring:
“The story behind this photograph started with my daughter and my love for art. My daughter Mackenzie and I love to do art projects together. On this particular photo shoot I was racking my brain thinking of new Easter ideas. My Daughter had been painting at my desk the night before. She likes to paint abstract paintings. I thought how fun would that be to add that to a puppy picture. It would give pops of color to an already cute Dalmatian puppy. I added the Easter eggs to look like the puppy had been painting them. I wanted it to be fun and silly and make it look like the puppy had made a mess, like most puppies can do. This Dalmatian puppy was so sweet and easy to work with. Besides the fact she wanted to eat all the Easter eggs but that just made the photo shoot more entertaining. I am truly blessed and I thank God to have a job that I get to mix my Love for photography and my love for animals together. Trust me when I say, I never have a boring photo shoot. I also never have one that doesn’t bring a smile to my face. I hope everyone enjoys these cute little faces as much as I do.”
Thanks so much to Jaime for sharing the story of this image with us. For more of her work (and even more puppy painted cuteness) you can discover it on her Fotolia portfolio.
