Imation's new 4GB Micro Hard Drive is now available
Still Micro on the Outside, More Giga on the Inside
A new design in micro hard drives has just been released from Imation corp. The new 4GB Micro Hard drive features a unique padlock like design with a flexible USB connector that locks directly into the drive. The storage drive can easily clip to your belt loop, key chain, or bag.
This design has gained the attention of the CES and has been named an Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree. I applaud the engineers for thinking outside the standard rectangle shape. (This reminds me of the Swiss Army Pocket Media which incorporated a pocket knife with a USB media drive.)
In addition the drive has been named in the 2005 Guinness World Records book as the smallest hard disk drive measuring less than 1 inch in diameter (less than the size of a quarter).
