Olympus SP-700

New Olympus 6 megapixel camera with huge 3 inch screen.

Olympus has announced a new 6 million pixel 3x zoom digital camera called the Olympus SP-700. The unique feature about this camera is its stylish design and mammoth 3 inch LCD screen on the back of the camera.

Now I guess my suggestions and complaints about losing the view finder have fallen on deaf ears. I like using a view finder to frame my photos and in addition it uses less battery but to make way for huge 3 inch LCD displays things have to change.

Another change is the placement of the controls on the back of the camera. They are all forced over to the right hand side of the camera. I am anxious to find out how consumers will respond to this design.

According to the release the camera will be available just before Christmas. No price information has been given.
