How to create a COOL Glass style icon:
Today, while searching for new inspirations, I came across really cool glass style icon ideas.
Give your Mac and PC a touch of color with language-agnostic icons; and place them on your desktop for your applications.
Follow these easy steps on how to create one:
1. Start by creating a square with a rounded corner radius of 20 pixels.
2. Create a second layer. This layer should be round and larger than the first layer. It will be used as the top lighting. Place it covering 1/2 of the square layer.
3. Apply the transparency effect to the round layer.
Now that we have the two basic layers, we need to create a Clipping mask:
4. Hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS), position the pointer over the line dividing two layers in the Layers palette (the pointer changes to two overlapping circles Overlapping circles pointer), and click.
5. Select a layer in the Layers palette, and choose Layer > Create Clipping Mask.
6. Link the desired layers in the Layers palette. Then choose Layer > Create Clipping Mask from Linked.
The clipping mask is assigned the opacity and mode attributes of the bottom most layer in the group.
