Getty Images buys Iconica.com

The ink is barely dry but reliable sources tell Fotolia that Getty Images has purchased Iconica.com

Seattle rumors confirmed today by international sources that just 30 minutes ago Getty Images bought Iconica.com.

The stock photography giant Getty Images holds more than 70% of the stock photography market. Both Corbis and Getty Images have been purchasing smaller stock photography companies for the last few years.

Iconica, a sister company to Photonica, is a fresh, quick and easy-to-use stock photography site for the experienced professional as well as those new to the process.

More details to come later.

Stay tuned.
