"CASH IN WITH CANON" REBATE PROGRAM RETURNS WITH AN ARRAY OF REBATES
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., April 15, 2005 — Baseball season, picnics, family gatherings and other outdoor activities are in full swing. Canon U.S.A. helps make it easy and affordable to capture and share memories of important activities and events with a digital camera system through "Cash In With Canon" Rebate Program from April 15 — July 15, 2005.
Canon is offering mail-in rebates from $10 to $500 on select products, including the professional EOS-1D Mark II, EOS 20D and a variety of EF lenses. Additionally, Canon is offering mail-in rebates on select EX-series Speedlites and IS (Image Stabilizer) Binoculars.
"The Cash in With Canon Rebate Program makes the speed and precision of SLR photography even more affordable to consumers," stated Yukiaki Hashimoto, senior vice president and general manager of the consumer imaging group at Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc. (NYSE:CAJ). "We feel that this type of rebate program expands the variety of photographic possibilities for photographers while keeping their experiences affordable."
To claim rebate, purchases must be made April 15 through July 15, 2005. Customers must complete and submit the following to be postmarked by August 8, 2005 and received by August 15, 2005: rebate form, received at time of purchase; a copy of the sales receipt with price paid, dealer name, product model and date clearly legible; a copy of the customer portion of the original Canon U.S.A. warranty card and an original cut-out of the UPC code and body/lens number.

I have bought the canon optura and applied for rebate in Febuary. Still waiting for rebate.
When I called the customer care .they said they never recieved the rebate form and so I cant get any rebate.
Looks like Canon cannot be trusted in rebates.

I sent in the required proofs to receive a rebate on a canon digital camera and printer in May, 2005. I received a letter five weeks later indicating that sufficient proofs had not been submitted. I called the number supplied for customer service and spoke to someone who said I do qualify for a rebate but that I should send a copy of my proofs which I did immediately. That was June 20,2005. I have heard nothing since then. I thought Canon was a name to be trusted. I guess not.

I had the exact same experience with a digital camera rebate in May 2005 and although I have sent 3 sets of copies of all the information, upc codes, register receipts, etc. I have not received the rebate nor heard back from them. I think it is a huge scam.

I meticulously bundled all required Canon rebate materials together and sent them in prior to the deadline. When I checked status earlier this week, I found that they had rejected my rebate due to noncompliance. Canon says I didn't include a copy of the warranty card. This is ridiculous, and a class action suit should be considered. They send you so much material with each item. I pulled out the little pink cards which had 3 sections. I photocopied the section that said "U.S.A Only" for both items and sent those in.
What the heck are they asking for? They are counting on not paying these rebates.

I sent in all the required information at the beginning of January. It is March 30th now and it is sitting in step 2 of 4 on the we-rebates website. I will contact them shortly, this is unbelievable. I would have expected this from some little unknown company but not from Canon. $285 better come my way... If not I would consider this fraud.

Same thing. I got a postcard saying that I didn't include the warranty card. I still have the scan that I sent and both warranty cards are clearly marked.
I just got off the phone with the rebate people.
Once I indicated that I had copys, the girl said that my rebate had in fact been approved, the card was a mistake, and to expect my check in 3 to 4 weeks. (Andrea)
I checked online and the status still looks rejected due to noncompliance. I called back and told the girl that since we were at week 9 of the 6 to 8 weeks to wait for a check, and because their website didn't give me any assurances that I was getting a check (not to mention the noncomplicance card in the mail) that I wanted an email from their company indicating that a check was on the way.
No dice. We can't send any emails from this office. "All I can tell you is that you DO have a check coming to you" "it's just delayed due to a mixup / mistake." (Jessica)
I'll wait unitl the end of the week and try calling again. Perhaps CSR roulette will help my cause ...

I bought a Canon EOS20D with two expensive lenses, submitted the proof as per Canons instructions and was told that I had sent insuficient proof, sent them further UPC's - no reply. CANON ARE A BUNCH OF DISHONEST SHITS I will never trust them again.

I sent the complete requirements for a MP450 for a rebate of $30.00 in June an it is September and still no rebate. the rebate form has this website:www.canon.rebatestatus.com and up to the third week of august, I could still see that my rebate was being "processed".in about the last week of august, my info could not be found and also the 1-866 number could not be called. I used the web to resubmit the form which i luckily photocopied. lets see what happens next.
