Phase One increases production to meet the demand for P-series digital camera backs
Phase One recently announced that they are increasing production to meet the demand for their digital backs. The professional-quality 39-megapixel P45- and the 31.6-megapixel P30 digital backs were introduced in December 2005, and the company says it has already sold and shipped more than 1,000 units. By increasing production, Phase One states that all existing orders will be fulfilled by April 30.
The P45 is primarily aimed at the commercial photographer working in advertising and marketing channels, while the P30 is designed with fashion, portrait and high-end "social" event photographers in mind.
The company also announced the introduction of the P21 digital back, which Phase One will begin shipping in late March. With the ability to shoot at a rate of 60 frames per minute, the P21 exceeds the maximum capture rate of the P30 and P45; the 54-megabyte processed image files ensure high-quality reproduction.
All three backs, says Phase One, offer superior sharpness, virtually Moire-free performance, with perfect skin-tone shading and smooth transition and tonal range.
