SKYPE 4.0 with Video
Internet phone company SKYPE has introduced new video features
As some of you have already heard the popular free internet phone company SKYPE has recently introduced SKYPE v4.0. One of the most exciting new features about this version of SKYPE is the ability to not only speak to your friends for free but also see your friends for free with video. Sure web video has been around for quite some time but this is different. The voice and video are clean and clear.
With the internet and emails it is not often that we have face to face conversations with people. With SKYPE 4.0 you can.(by the way this is a picture of me)
I have been a SKYPE user for about 1 year now and I have almost considered getting rid of my standard home phone number. Every month I get my bill for $50+ and I barely use it.
Besides the free calls and video one of the great things about SKYPE is using it on a laptop computer. When I travel my SKYPE comes with me. I even understand there is a Pocket PC version available.
However there are a few draw backs to SKYPE and that is to truly talk for free you need to have all your friends, family, and business associates using the SKYPE software. Otherwise you have to pay for incoming and outgoing calls to a land line. Also SKPYE does not offer 911 services so if my house starts to burn down I can not get online and call for help. And lastly if you try to call a non SKYPE user they will not be able to see you with the new video feature. Otherwise SKYPE is great.
