New iPod Nano
I never did get my invitation to the Apple announcement in SF but hey I know people. So my people helped me climb to the roof, enter an air conditioning duct into the kitchen, then dress as a bus boy and stand in back behind the big pole. It is great to have connections.
Ok drum roll please… Ipod nano!!! Well it is not exactly what I expected but cool enough. This feather weight packs a punch as a replacement for the very popular iPod mini. It weighs only 1.5 onces, thinner than a number two pencil and features a color screen. The 2 GB and 4GB models are priced at $199 and $249 respectively. Remember that saying less is more; well I think it applies here. The portable music player weighs less, stores fewer songs (not more than 1000 songs), and has the least amount of battery life (14 hours), however it costs more money than the popular mini iPod. Sure it is new, thin, in color, and popular but why should it cost more?
iPod nano does have some other new features like a world clock, stop watch, lap timer, games, and screen lock. Plus the iPod nano has an auto sync feature that keeps all your photos, music, and podcasts up to date and insync with your nano.
Now will people go for it I am not sure. Only time will tell.
The iPod nano is available now directly from the Apple website.
