What are Fotolia Tags?
Tags allow you to graphically see the most popular keywords used for search and describing photographs. On Fotolia Tags are used to describe two things:
- The most keywords used to describe a photograph.
- The most keywords used to search for a photograph.
Each list represents the top 150 tags used the most. The size of the tag describes just how popular the keyword is. The bigger the tag the more popular it is.
Photographer TagsThe first paragraph located at the top of the page represents the top 150 keywords entered by photographers. Photographers use keywords to describe their images for the database. These keywords allow buyers to search for images. The bigger tags mean that photographers use those keywords many times to describe their photographs. Big tags indicate two things.
- There are many photographs with those keywords
- Photographers are not differentiating their photographs by adding more specific keywords.
Photographers should always describe their photographs with the most accurate keywords to help buyers find their images.
Search Request TagsThe second paragraph represents the 150 top search terms entered by buyers in the Fotolia database researching photographs. The bigger the tag the more often the search term is used.
In the ideal world both paragraphs would be similar. Supply would equal demand.
