What are the different licenses available on Fotolia?
Fotolia offers a license for just about every buyers needs. Each license defines how and where you can use the image.
There are 3 types of licenses on Fotolia:
- Standard Royalty Free License (available in 4 sizes: M, L, XL and XXL)
- Extended Royalty Free License
- Exclusive buyout License
In all cases, it is strictly prohibited to use the images in a way which may harm or discredit the photographer or person(s) represented.
For WEB usage, the maximum resolution authorized is 640x480 in order to limit the theft of images.

I am looking for a background image for my software applicatation, wich i intend to sell to my clients.
It should not be larger then 800 * 600 pixels, and will probably partial covered by displayed information on the screen.
Do I need an extended licences, or is this usage not allowed. I can't find any information in this matter.

i've found the photo that i need to buy and i know that I need the exclusive license...however at the pricing section at the bottom of the photo it just gives me the pricing of the standard and medium...does that mean I cant buy the exclusive license for that particulour pic?

When you purchase an image from Fotolia, the confirmation/dowload screen pops up with copyright information for the artist...
Are you supposed to credit the author wherever the image is used - specifically - on a website? What is the intention of this info?

After making one time payment, I will download images of 72 dpi only. All the downloaded images shall be used in multimedia flash presentations (read only format) only. There after, I will be making multiple (more than 5000) copies of my CD and selling my CDs containing flash presentations only in open market world wide, directly/through distributors for unlimited time period.
