David Gilmore - Why are my images only 72 dpi?

That is one of the best and easiest to understand explanations of the "dots per inch" I have read. The visual aid using PS is important to help everyone understand the relationship of DPI, dimension and resolution.
Thank you!

Malcolm Brown - What type of images does Fotolia need?

Thankyou for the guidance and help. This is a big improvement on what was available as guidelines when the site first started.I realised most of what you said when looking at the images of the successful photographers, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded again what type of image you require. I will work towards making my images more acceptable and my new equipment will provide raw and cleaner data. Sharpness will be left to the designers.

Sheri Herbert - Why are my images only 72 dpi?

Why is it that photo's I have submitted are only offered in one size M ?

ie:my photo:

M 2217 x 1560 (3.5 MP), 30.8 x 21.7 '' (72 dpi)

when other photographer are:

M 1124 x 1690 (1.9 MP), 15.6 x 23.5 '' (72 dpi)
L 2000 x 3008 (6 MP), 6.7 x 10 '' (300 dpi)
X 2000 x 3008 (6 MP), 6.7 x 10 '' (300 dpi)

Looks to me that mine should be offered in other sizes?

Can you explain this to me? I haven't downloaded others because I can't understand why my photos are offered on other sites at 3 sizes and contain the same file information.

Thank you

Bobby Stierwalt - Nikon SB800 Flash Question

I am using my new d200 with SB 800 Speedlight. Is there anything available by way of training on the SB 800. I have a helpful dvd from Blue Crane on the d200, but have not found much of help on the SB 800.

Currently, I am experiencing a delayed flash that totally blows everything out. Oh yes, I fire one shot and there is no flash. The second one the flash fires and blows everything out.

My SB 28 never gave me much trouble on my N90s film camera. I think I am missing something.
Thanks,

oliver brelsford - What is the Standard Royalty Free License?

I noticed that Mr. Bridwell said the Standard License covers the following scenario: "We're a worldwide commercial publishing house and we'd like to use some of your images in our school textbooks. Would the standard royalty-free license cover this usage?" I, too, am creating educational material except mine is a java applet. Will the standard license cover usage of your images as illustrations for this web-based, paid-subscription, educational site? Thank you.
