Half way there
Half way through this journey.
It is hard to believe but my wife is more than half way through the pregnancy. While the first trimester was really bad these last few weeks have flown by. Life just seems much easier knowing that my wife and baby are health and happy. We are really starting to prepare for this new arrival.
For those of you who don’t know we are having a girl. We are pretty sure the name is going to be Grace or as my wife says “Gracie”. I am 90% convinced that Grace is the right name but until I see and hold her nothing is written in stone just yet.
Since we are having a girl I decided the baby room should be pink. Call me traditional but I think pink actually goes well in our home. I like a lot of color and honestly most of the other primary colors are taken. So pink is our paint choice. When I went to buy the paint at the national “do-it-your-self” store, the color look fairly soft in the store but put that stuff on four walls and it takes on a whole different look. Pink pink pink pink pink everywhere! It is a little overwhelming. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come in my life. We have a few ideas to soften the décor of the room just a little.
I had a completely new experience a few weeks ago while visiting my family for the thanksgiving holiday. My parents organized a JACK & JILL baby shower for us. What this means is that both men and women attend the baby shower. It was fun to reconnect with old friends and their was a lot of laughing, ooing and ahhing. However, I could tell that I was not the only guy who had never been to a baby shower before. Overall it was a great party and we got some awesome gifts too.
I am sure we will have much more to share as we near the due date in April. Next I hope to show you the traditional profile shot of the mother to be. Hey do you think I need a model release for sonogram pictures?
I better get back to work!
