Nikon Rumors are True

I guess the rumors are true. According to a Macworld article Nikon corporate did comment on the reality of the d50. They also mentioned they are currently working on other prosumer digital slrs. In the last 12 months Nikon claims to of sold over 1 million d70 cameras. With this success I can see why Nikon would be eager to jump deeper into the prosumer market.

Digital SLR cameras allow the hobbyist and professional the flexability of using interchangable lenses. Many of these cameras have all the high end features of the popular film cameras. Nikon, Canon and other camera manufactures are fighting for this prosumer market. Camera bodies start at around $700 and good lenses are much more. As long as Nikon does not tip their hand too much they may have a chance to take the lead in this dslr race.
