Photographer of the Week: Sean Gladwell

This week's photographer of the week is Sean Gladwell. A talented photographer, with a background in the creative industry, I'm sure his professional background and understanding of how the design industry ticks has been an invaluable source of inspiration for his stock photographs.

Quick overview about myself

Hi, my name Sean Gladwell and I’m 38 years old, living in West Sussex. I’ve been in the creative industry all my working life, working for design agencies and printers covering every aspect of design. I’ve been a visualiser, graphic designer, illustrator, art director and creative director.

For the last 4 years I’ve been self employed, offering creative services such as graphic design, illustration, photography, manipulation and retouching.

My main passion is creative imagery, but it’s only in the last 2 years I have been more interested in photography. A lot of my work demands high quality conceptual photography which is why I have moved more into this area, building up a large portfolio of images.

I love conceptual photography, especially images that have just the slight amount of manipulation that make you look twice.
One of my favourite images is the ‘Candle’, it has had great impact and only it only took me 10 minutes to create which is very unusual as most of my conceptual work takes much longer.

I’ve only recently discovered fotolia and other stock sites, but I’m already addicted to them. The only downside is, I still have a huge back log of photos and illustrations still to upload and keyword, which you probably know is very time consuming and very dull, but I’m determined to carry on because the rewards are there.
