Marilyn Barbone
Welcome to the NEW Featured Photographer of the Week. As we contemplated who to choose as the first featured photographer of the week one artist stood out amongst the thousands of photos submitted each day and we are honored to have her with us. Fotolia is proud to announce our First Featured Photographer of the Week, Marilyn Barbone.
Summary about myself
I studied graphic design, illustration and photography at Chelsea School of Art, London, UK before moving to the remote Cambrian Mountain range in Wales, UK a few years ago. Its a really wild and beautiful place which suits me fine, great place for a photographer and wonderful after the stress of London . I currently live in a converted stone barn which I restored with my partner and this took several years to do during which time I did no photography whatsoever. Then I discovered the world of digital photography, felt like a kid in a sweet shop and that was it, I was totally addicted again.
My Phototgraphy
I used to use Nikon 35mm equipment but I currently use a Canon 20D and a variety of EF lenses which I bought earlier this year, so Im able to shoot at the extremes, from macro, to wide angle, to telephoto, so depending on the weather or my mood on the day, I select the appropriate equipment and just take off. Im totally obsessed with photography and seem to get withdrawal symptoms if I cant get my daily fix! I chose my lenses with a mind to the future knowing that one day I would probably want to upgrade my camera, and Ive now got my eye on the Canon 5D, but of course there are budgetry constraints so Ill have to dream on for a while!
My involment with Folotlia
I joined Fotolia only recently as a stock photographer after being recommended by a fellow photographer. I wish the Fotolia team all the best of success in their venture, this is a great site and I thank them for giving me the opportunity of being their first featured photographer. I feel really honoured.
Favourite Photo
Im not sure if you mean one of mine or someone elses. If its one of mine then see attached photo entitled Dreaming Together. Its my favourite because there is a simple innocence and beauty to the picture, something about both models being in unison in their dreamy gaze. I also love the monochrome effect. If its someone elses, then its Jostein Haugue Swan Reflections. Its simply beautfiul. You have this photo on your site. I do have a personal website but Im currently redesigning the layout and dont wish to display it in its current form.
