World Photo Day
World Photo Day asks you to capture your life and your world on one day and share it with the world.
Have you heard about World Photo Day yet? Well with only a few days left Fotolia wanted to let you know about the upcoming event. The project is very simple capture one picture that depicts your life your world on June 1, 2005 and submit the image to the WPD website. As a result viewers will gain a greater understanding of what peoples lives are like across globe at least for one day in 2005.
WPD founder Drew Rossman says, “My hope is that we all gain a better, more positive insight into the circumstances that dictate our daily lives, the difficulties, the triumphs, the beauty, the pain, the good and the bad, all of this in just one 24-hour period.
These photos will be uploaded to the World Day photo site and organized into albums. Submissions will only be open for 1 24 hour period starting at 12:01 am GMT time. There is no contest, no big corporate sponsor no catch. Just take 1 picture of your world on June 1st and submit it to the website.
“Though all of us inhabiting our unique planet are essentially the same, our lives unfold in such a broad array of ways that we cannot but stand in amazement as we view the diversity.”
Pre-registration is still possible and the photos will be available for viewing as they are received beginning June 1st.
