Fotolia 1.0 is coming
Fotolia.com is getting a small face lift on 3rd November 2005. As a result the website will be down for a short period of time. But never fear the blog will still be here.
Hello Fotolians!
As many of you know Fotolia.co.uk is a new world leader in stock photography. For the last few months Fotolia.co.uk has been operating under a beta umbrella. Well things are a changin’ !
Fotolia’s beautiful and easy to use website is about to get even better. In just a few days we will launch Fotolia 1.0, and its not just about removing the beta logo! Fotolia 1.0 will shake up the stock photography industry. Competitors may hate us but customers will love us (hopefully!)
To prepare for the launch of Fotolia 1.0, the Fotolia.co.uk website will be out of service for a few hours on Thursday 3rd November 2005, from 8 AM to approximately 6 PM GMT. Here is a sneak preview of some of the new features on Fotolia 1.0.
Fotolia 1.0 features:
- Enhanced Search Engine – not only can you search for images around the world in multiple languages but now Fotolia allows you to narrow your search with new options like illustrations, isolated photo, and something we like to call Search by Color. Simply choose a color and Fotolia will display all the photos meeting your keyword search and color preference. Pretty cool huh!
- Flashy new web design and colors – With so many great designers and photographers joining Fotolia everyday we felt like we needed to improve our look. So we made the web pages bigger, changed the buttons, and created a new color pallet. Think of it as a new shave and a haircut..
- New Forums - Now is the time to meet your fellow Fotolians. Fotolia allows all members to share speak their mind about a variety of industry topics. Visit any one of the following forums to learn more Fotolia Café, Fotolia Q&A, Photography techniques, Designer techniques, Legal Board, and Idea Box.
- New editing and review system – Fotolia is introducing a revolutionary new review system. It is still a secret but trust me you will love it.
- New Revenue – Tired of waiting for your images to sell? Well the Fotolia team has come up with a sure fire way to get you additional revenue just for posting your images to the website. Check back in a few days to learn more about it. It is a true breakthrough in the industry !
As you can see a lot is going on here at Fotolia.com so hang in there for a few more days while we finish up Fotolia 1.0. In preparation for the launch we encourage all photographers to upload their entire portfolio and shoot more beautiful images, for success is right around the corner.
