New features of the week
There is always something new at Fotolia. This week is no exception. After the Easter update (and minor bug fixes) the engineers got together and added two new features. Well one of them is a once removed feature but the other one is new.
Search by Camera
It’s an update of an old feature that we removed a few months ago. But its back better than ever. You can now search for images by camera type. It’s a great tool to see what other people are doing with your current or future camera. This tool uses exif metadata integrated in digital images and read by Fotolia when uploading. Most say that the camera does not matter and that it is the photographer who makes the image but you might change your mind after you do a search by camera.
AJAX Feature
Ajax is very trendy right now and many sites implement ajax everywhere they can. Our Philisophy is to use ajax only where it is needed. We use ajax in our keyword suggestion, image zoom, and now add to lightbox and shopping cart.
Using ajax to add images to the lightbox and shopping cart does a couple of really cool things. First, it does not require the page to load each time to select an image and add it to the lightbox. Second, it relieves stress on the server making our engineers happy. (if the engineers are happy everyone is happy) So give it a try we are sure you will love it!
Stay Tuned, new features are coming soon!!
