Flickr and Yahoo

Flickr the leading photo blog site finds deep pockets with Yahoo.com!

According to an Associated Press article Yahoo.com will acquire popular photo blog Flickr. The article did not mention terms of the deal but it appears as if Flickr is happy with the deal. One quote in the article said this “"It means that we'll no longer have to draw straws to see who gets paid," one Flickr worker wrote Monday in a post to the startup's official blog. “ Flickr lets people upload digital images from computers and cell phones, publish them in blogs and share them online. In addition Flickr links people with similar tastes and interests based upon similar profiles. The company’s slogan is “This isn't your grandfather's photo-sharing site”, Referring probably to the more traditional ofoto and shutterfly sites of the world. Flickr will continue to operate but someone else will start paying the bills.
