Similia : Collaborative Suggestion

Fotolia uses a collaborative behavior analysis to recommend images to users for purchase.

Similia is a new image suggestion feature created by Fotolia to help users identify additional images that may correspond to their photo needs. Running behind the scenes, Similia statistically analyses user’s behaviours (buying, searching and organizing behaviours) on Fotolia and recommends images to buyers based on their past and present shopping cart information.

In contrast to the "similar photo", "same series", and "same model",
searches, which base their recommendations from one single image, Similia incorporates a buyers entire shopping cart history plus broader behavior analysis into its photo suggestion.

The Similia data is automatically updated and improved with time. The more Fotolia is used the more relevant the Similia results will be. Similia offers buyers a new way to search for images by using collective intelligence.
